Music, food and wine. What better way to spend a Saturday afternoon? The Inner West Community Band has prepared a tasty adventure for their end of year concert, featuring a pairing of food and music from five different countries that will take you Around the World in 80 Minutes.
The adventure begins on Saturday 18 November in the Leichhardt Town Hall VIP Lounge, where guests who have pre-booked tickets will be treated to a free glass of wine or juice before the concert.
Boarding starts promptly at 4pm, when the audience will be asked to find their allocated seat, buckle their seatbelt and turn their phone into airplane mode as the music takes off.
During the flight IWCB will keep you entertained with music from Australia, Japan, Mexico, Italy and France. Highlights will include the fabulous Danzon No. 2 by Marquez, and Orpheus in the Underworld by Offenbach. Trumpeter Rebecca Williams will also be featured, performing the virtuosic “Carnival of Venice” with the band.
Those who pre-book tickets will be served delicious bite-sized treats throughout the experience, paired with the music from each country. The food will be provided by local businesses, and will be handed out between performances.
The journey will consist of 2 x 40 minute flights, with a 20 minute stopover for passengers to stretch their legs, help themselves to tea, coffee and additional snacks provided by the band, or to buy some last minute raffle tickets.
