Kids’ Proms

Sunday 13 April, 9:45 am12:00 pm

Our popular Kids’ Concerts are back! Encourage a love of music at our fun and interactive concerts that introduce children to the concert band.  Children will hear the band play upbeat and familiar tunes, with opportunities to clap, dance, march and sing throughout the show. All while experiencing the different amazing woodwind, brass and percussion instruments.

The It’s Playtime concerts will be hosted by children’s singer and entertainer Emily Who. Emily will take the children on a musical adventure through play, with opportunities for children to join in with games including Musical Statues and Follow the Leader.

About the IWCB Kids’ Proms:

Our Kids’ Proms concerts aim to introduce children to the instruments of the concert band, and to share the joy of making music. They are both a wonderful learning experience for children, and a whole lot of fun for the whole family (and the musicians!)

The Inner West Community Band has been providing these concerts for the community since 2011.

About Emily Who: Emily is a children’s performer known as Emily Who and recently released her fourth album of songs for kids. She regularly performs live shows across Sydney including for Sydney Fringe Festival, the Spot on Kids Festival at Riverside Parramatta, shows at Darling Harbour, and alongside Bluey and Paw Patrol at the Sydney Zoo. She writes and presents annual children’s performances for the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Youth Orchestras and Ku-ring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra. She volunteers for Storyville and Books In Homes – regularly reading stories for young children. In 2023 Emily received the award for Best Children’s Performer NSW – overall winner and people’s choice. She was also nominated for Best Album at the Major Minor Music Award.
