Hear the music from Korea, Armenia, England, Spain and Africa, while being served food tastings from each country.
Those who pre-book tickets will be served delicious treats throughout the experience, paired with the music from each country.
The journey will consist of 2 x 40 minute flights, with a 20 minute stopover for passengers to stretch their legs, help themselves to drinks, or to buy some last minute raffle tickets.

The Inner West Community Band’s Kids’ Proms Concerts are back this year!

Share the joy and excitement of seeing and hearing the sounds of a concert band for the first time at IWCB’s fun and interactive Kids’ Proms concert. Your kids will see how trumpets toot, saxophones sing and percussion performs. Featuring upbeat and familiar tunes, demos of each instrument, opportunities to join in with the music-making and even a chance to conduct the band, this concert is suitable for children of all ages.*
Highlights will include ‘Let it Go’ from Frozen and ‘Under the Sea’ from The Little Mermaid, along with familiar themes from TV and nursery rhymes.
The performance will go for a kid-friendly 40 minutes, with a chance afterwards for children to meet the members of the band and see the instruments up close.
*As a guide this concert is most suitable for children from 2-7 years old. We have also had younger and older children enjoy the concerts in the past!

Celebrate popular British music from the classics to rock songs, with the Inner West Community Band’s ‘Best of British’ concert on Saturday 6 April 2019.
With toe tapping tunes spanning from the James Bond theme to The Dam Busters March, to songs by popular UK bands Coldplay and WHAM, and singer Phil Collins, this concert is sure to delight. Have a classic Last Night of the Proms experience with the grand finale being Elgar’s ‘Pomp and Circumstance’.

Celebrate the diverse music of the Big Apple when Inner West Community Band’s presents “New York, New York”.
Imagine yourself in one of the many famous jazz clubs with classics such as “A Night in Tunisia” and “Sing, Sing, Sing”. Take a trip to Broadway with some Irving Berlin showstoppers and hits from “The Lion King”. Hear tunes from iconic New York movies. Experience works by some of New York’s best composers including Copland’s “Fanfare for a Common Man”.

CAROLS IN THE PARK
Students will rehearse a few concert pieces to play as pre-entertainment at the popular “Carols in the Park” event in Five Dock. run by Communities for Communities. They will be led by Sydney Conservatorium of Music trained professional Adele Sutton. A small number of experienced members from the Inner West Community Band will support and sit in with students during the concert, creating a rare and invaluable learning experience for all students involved.
Participants will be sent the music to practise in advance with their tutor before the first rehearsal.
Workshops will take place at Wilkins St Public School, Marrickville in the school hall. Entry is via Coronation Ave.
The concert will take place at Halliday Park, Five Dock.
Workshops: Friday the 6th and 13th of December 6:30-7:30pm. Please arrive 6:15pm for a 6:30pm start.
Concert:Wednesday the 18th of December, 6:00pm.
Concert Dress: White shirt, black pants, optional Christmas accessory.

- Participants must be able to attend ALL workshop and concert dates.
- Participants must be having lessons on their instrument with a tutor.

We are sad to announce this event has been cancelled due to COVID-19. Celebrations for our 10th Birthday will be postponed until our end of year concert on Saturday 28 November.
Come and celebrate the 10th birthday of the Inner West Community Band with some of the best tunes from our first decade!
After 10 years of playing music with and for the community of the Inner West, this concert features all-time favourites including Phantom of the Opera, Overture to Candide and Doctor Who. Members of the band will also share the significance of each piece and help the audience appreciate them afresh. And, as with any birthday, there is cake to be eaten!

The Inner West Community Band presents:
A live-streamed concert of movie music.
The band is back together! While we aren’t able to accommodate live audiences just yet, we are excited to announce “On Screen” – our first ever live-streamed performance.
On Saturday 28 November, 4pm-5:30pm you will be able to watch the Inner West Community Band performing live, while staying in the comfort of your own home.
The band will perform a selection of music from movies. Much like 2020, our program will send us Into the Unknown, through battles with dinosaurs and phantoms, and finally Over the Rainbow to the resolution that You Can’t Stop the Beat. There will also be a fitting tribute to Ennio Morricone (1928-2020).
