Kids’ Proms: Party Time!

Sunday 10 November, 9:30 am12:00 pm

It’s Party Time!

Join the Inner West Community Band for our next Kids’ Proms concerts. Dance, sing, clap and march along as the band plays upbeat and familiar tunes. Hear solo demos from the woodwind, brass and percussion instruments, and learn the names of the instruments!

These exciting and interactive concerts are perfect for kids aged 2-6 years.

Our November Kids’ Proms concerts will feature a party theme. It’s our host Xia Lian’s birthday party! Come along to play party games including Musical Statues, meet her friends in the band and even help blow out the candles on the (pretend) birthday cake! You’ll even get to help her sing some of her favourite songs, and play the egg shakers with the band.

Concert Host: Xia Lian Wilson

Xia Lian loves sharing the joy of music with all generations, and is looking forward to hopefully sparking a musical passion in the children at the Kids’ Proms 2024!

Xia Lian is in her third year at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music studying a Bachelor of Musical Theatre, where she also takes conducting under Dr Elizabeth Scott.

She is currently a member of Sydney Philharmonia Choir’s VOX choir, where she appeared in Schoenberg’s ‘Gurrelieder’, ‘The Golden Age of Broadway’ and ‘Mozart’s Great Mass in C Minor’ at the Sydney Opera House. Xia Lian has worked with Adventure Kids Entertainment as a lead performer and educator, teaching children the basics about recycling and sustainability through interactive song, dance and activities. She has recently created a Broadway-style cabaret to go into Aged Care homes around Sydney which has been very well received by all.

Her extensive Musical Theatre experience includes:

  • Mrs Anderssen in ‘A Little Night Music’ (Hayes, 2023)
