The Inner West Community Bands currently offers two wind bands.
If you would like to join either band, please email info@iwcb.org.au with your name, instrument, and approximate standard and/or experience.
- Emailing before attending is essential. Walk-ins are not accepted.
- There are no auditions; places are subject to availability.
- We accept new members at the start of each term as we begin new music.
IWCB Wind Symphony
Starting date for 2026: Tuesday 4 February (performance Sunday 29 March)
If a place is available we’ll invite you to a rehearsal so you can try it out and see if we are the right ensemble for you!
Rehearsals: Tuesdays, 7.15–9.30pm in Marrickville
Musical Director: Joshua McNulty
2026 Fees: $67.50 per term
Required standard: AMEB Grade 7 or equivalent is recommended

Transport:
- Free car parking in the carpark and surrounding streets
- The 412 and 428 buses stop close to the venue
- The closest stations are Petersham and Marrickville. We can organise lifts to these stations after rehearsals.
IWCB Concert Band
Starting date for 2026: Wednesday 28 January (performance Saturday 14 March)
Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 7:15–8:45pm in Concord
Musical Director: Danika Pink
2026 Fees: $67.50 per term. Membership fees will not be required until week 4, so feel free to try it out first!
Required Standard: AMEB Grade 5 or equivalent is recommended.
Recent Repertoire: English Folk Song Suite, Fantasy on a Japanese Folk Song, Mary Poppins. We play a mix of original wind band compositions along with pop, orchestral, jazz and movie themes.
Transport:
- Plenty of free car parking available in the carpark.
- Buses stop close to the venue, including routes 410, 454, 466 and 502.
- Train: the closest station is Burwood station. We try to organise lifts to/from the station if requested.
