The Inner West Community Bands currently offers two wind bands.

If you would like to join either of our bands please email info@iwcb.org.au with your name, instrument, and approximate standard and/or experience.

Please note: Emailing before attending is essential. Walk-ins are not accepted.

IWCB Wind Symphony

When: Tuesdays, 7.15–9.30pm
Where: Wilkins Public School, Marrickville
Musical Director: Joshua McNulty
2025 Fees: $65 per term

Required Standard: A minimum standard of AMEB Grade 7 or equivalent is recommended.

Repertoire Examples: Recent repertoire has included Symphony No. 1 –  Lord of the Rings (Johan De Meij), Vulnerable Joy (Jodie Blackshaw), Abram’s Pursuit (David Holsinger) and Slava! (Bernstein), Selections from Wicked, Incredibles 2.

There are no auditions; places are subject to availability. We accept new members at the start of each term as we begin new music.

Starting date for 2026

  • Tuesday 4 February (performance Sunday 29 March)

If a place is available we’ll invite you to a rehearsal so you can try it out and see if we are the right ensemble for you!

IWCB Concert Band

Our brand new ensemble!

We are currently accepting applications from any interested woodwind, brass or percussion players. 

When: Wednesdays, 7:15–8:45pm
Where: Concord High School (please email before attending)
Musical Director: Danika Pink
2026 Fees: $65 per term.  Membership fees will not be required until week 4, so feel free to try it out first!

Required Standard: A minimum standard of AMEB Grade 5 or equivalent is recommended.

Repertoire Examples: Recent repertoire included English Folk Song Suite, Fantasy on a Japanese Folk Song, Mary Poppins. We play a mix of original wind band compositions along with pop, orchestral, jazz and movie themes.

If you play piccolo, flute, oboe, clarinet, bass clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, trumpet, french horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, percussion or string bass, please get in touch!
